NELSON ROOM ORNC Greenwich

A small room with a BIG story. This is the actual room where Admiral Lord Nelson’s body was brought 64 days after he was killed by a French sniper at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. We help tell the fascinating story of the battle, the journey back to Britain (in a barrel of brandy) his time in this room over Christmas 1805, his lying in state in in the magnificent Painted Hall next door and the unprecedented reaction of the nation at his lying in state and his funeral.
